Silk

is a very fine natural textile fiber obtained from the cocoons of the silkworm (larva of the silkworm moth). Silk is the only textile continuous fiber found in nature and consists mainly of protein. It is characterized by its luster and high strength and has an insulating effect against cold and heat.

Properties:

  • Has an antibacterial effect, is particularly supple, breathable and has little tendency to wrinkle.
  • can absorb up to one third of its own weight in moisture.
  • Is sensitive to high temperatures, abrasion and water stains.
