Refibra Tencel™

REFIBRA Lyocell fibers are the result of two innovations that use wood and cotton. The pulp used in REFIBRA Tencel™Lyocell is a renewable raw material that comes from sustainably managed forests. By reducing the need for wood, this method of working also reduces the environmentally harmful impact caused by your production. The addition of recycled cotton scraps not only saves materials from the waste stream, but it also replaces a certain amount of the pulp, reducing the amount of virgin raw materials used.

The Lyocell process used in the production of Tencel™ Lyocell is a particularly sustainable way of producing fibers. It takes place in two stages and without the use of toxic solvents. Moreover, 99% of the solvent and the water used can later be recycled into the production process. This process reduces water consumption by 95% compared to conventional cotton production and therefore causes no air, soil or water pollution.

The resulting fibers and Refibra™ Tencel Lyocell fabrics are a real dream! They are breathable, have high moisture absorption, are antibacterial and feel like a breath of nothing. Big plus: For their part, they are also recyclable!

The term Tencel™ Lyocell is a trademarked term by the Lenzing company. Tencel and Lyocell fibers differ only in name.  The Austrian Lenzing AG, owner of the patents for the Lyocell spinning technology, bought the brand "Tencel" and also took over its name.
